Where the music comes from.

Resona indexes music published on Ethereum and other EVM chains across platforms including Catalog, Sound.xyz, Zora, Mint Songs, Songcamp Chaos, Holly+, NOIZD, and others. We read public contract and token data and the metadata each work points to (on IPFS or Arweave).

How a work enters the catalog.

We enumerate music contracts, read each token's metadata, and detect whether it points to real, playable audio. If audio cannot be detected, the work is skipped — we would rather show less than show something that will not play.

We do not invent metadata.

Titles, artists, and other details come from what the work itself declares onchain. When a work does not declare an artist name, it appears as "Unknown artist" rather than a guess. Nothing is fabricated to look more complete than it is.

Deduplication.

One edition can mint the same track across many tokens. Resona collapses these into a single work by audio content, so the catalog reflects distinct music, not token counts.

Verifiability.

Because every entry points to its onchain contract and metadata, anyone can independently verify a work's origin. Resona is a pointer to public data, not a private database of claims.
